Natali Helbeger appointed to the Council of Europe’s expert committee on Increasing Resilience of the Media

Digital Legal Lab member Natali Helberger, professor in information law at the University of Amsterdam, has been appointed to the Council of Europe’s Committee of Experts on Increasing Resilience of the Media (MSI-RES) as an independent expert.
The Council of Europe’s newly established expert committee is composed of 13 members—seven Member State representatives and six independent experts appointed by the Secretary General with recognized expertise in the fields of freedom of
expression and information, media and digital technologies.
Among the appointed independent experts is professor Natali Helberger, who specializes in the intersections between technology and information law, user rights and the changing role of the user in information law and policy.
The Committee will convene for the first time on 31 March and 1 April to discuss its purpose and plans. View the agenda for the meeting here.
