imco committee on the dsa

Digital Legal Lab researcher Joris van Hoboken, professor of Law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels and a senior researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam, was invited to speak at the European Parliament’s IMCO Committee workshop on the Digital Services Act and Digital Markets Act.

The workshop, held by the European Parliament’s Internal Market and Consumer Protection (IMCO) Committee on 26 May 2021, explored possible conclusions and recommendations on the DSA and DMA and aimed to gather evidence on the expected effects of the regulation of online intermediaries.

Joris van Hoboken, one of the project leaders of the recently launched DSA Observatory at IViR, was among the six experts invited to speak at the European Parliament workshop. In his talk, he shared his views and recommendations on the DSA’s safe harbors, due diligence obligations and new transparency and accountability requirements for online ads.
