Apps and other digital technologies play a prominent role in the world’s response to the coronavirus crisis. Although technology can be helpful in managing the pandemic and shaping exit strategies, it also brings new challenges and concerns.
As technologies are being developed and deployed, the question arises: how can we implement technology in an effective way, while steering clear of technological solutionism and respecting fundamental rights such as privacy?
Researchers affiliated with the Digital Legal Lab are exploring the legal, ethical and societal conditions that must be met in order to effectively use digital solutions in managing the global Covid-19 pandemic.
